Michael E. DeBakey High School at Qatar encourages families to begin the application process as early as possible.
The QR 600 application/assessment fee must be submitted prior to taking the Admissions Assessment.
The Admissions area of our website is designed to make the application process as simple as possible by using our Online Application (this step is not necessary until after the assessment results are calculated). Families must apply online as it simplifies submission and provides parents a tool for tracking online the status of their admission application.
As per the admission requirements of the Ministry of Education & Higher Education, please refer the Curriculum Equivalency chart used for enrollment.
Applicants are invited and required to complete our diagnostic test. This initial admissions assessment does not guarantee placement at DeBakey High School – Qatar. If the applicant earns a passing score on diagnostic test, the next step wil be to complete the online application and recommendation forms.

To begin the Online Application process, parents will be sent an online application link after the admissions assesment has been completed. Then log into your account and Create A New Student Application for your child. You will then have the flexibility to log in and out of your account and access your open application.
Once the online application is submitted, all required documents must be hand delivered to admissions office.
Documents to be submitted prior to assessment:
- School records: copy of original transcript/Report card for previous 3 years
- Immunization records
- Birth Certificate
- 2 Passport Size photos
- Student passport copy
- Father passport copy
- Copy of Father’s Qatari ID (must be submitted before enrollment)
- Copy of student residency (must be submitted before enrollment)
- Three Recommendation Forms
Documents to be submitted prior to registration/enrollment:
- SEC Grade level acceptance (if required, British/American)
Prospective 10th grade students:
When a student enrolls in DeBakey High School – Qatar for Grade 10, students are involved in a Transfer Credit Evaluation Process. The objective of this process is to prevent students from having to repeat course material they have covered at their previous school.
To complete this process, students must provide a course syllabus and/or course description of the individual course to verify that it is aligned with DeBakey’s curriculum. If a student is unable to provide the above information, the student may take an end of course exam for the course in question. The student must pass this exam with a minimum of 70 % to receive transfer credit.
Once a student receives the necessary transfer credit, the student’s schedule is designed based on the Four-Year Course Sequence for a DeBakey student.
