Spring semester has begun! As discussed in our MAP Parent Night, the focus areas Reading Informational Text and Vocabulary, will be heavily implemented in all courses. To make this process more enjoyable, multiple reading and MAP competitions will take place throughout the semester. Please encourage your children to particpate.

DeBakey Sports Day
Our Sports Day will take place at school on March 3, 2016. This will be a fun day for students to enjoy each other in friendly competitions! As no classes will take place on this day, please encourage our students to particpate. Only students that sign up to particpate will attend school on this day.

Science Fair
All students will particpate in the Science Fair this school year. Preparation and timelines will be corrdinated through the science courses in Cycle 4 & 5. Selected projects will be selected for the Science Fair competition. Please encourage our students to complete their best work! Additionally, the PTA is helping to coordinate through a Science Fair Commiittee.

Admissions
DeBakey High School – Qatar is now accepting applications for the 2016 – 2017 School Year! We are considering applications for grades 7 – 10 only. If you have any children or relatives who would like to be considered for next school year’s enrollment, now is the time to begin the application process.
A few requirements have changed for the next school year. Please visit the Admissions link located on the website for more information.
World Book Day
We will celebrate World Book Day on Wednesday, March 2, 2016.
- Grades 7 & 8 students will dress up as their favorite book character and complete book presentations.
- Grades 9 – 12 students will participate in a literary scavenger hunt with their classmates.
Please encourage your child’s enthusiasm!
