Spring semester has begun, and we thank you for encouraging your children to participate in school activities! Our recent events, Sports Day & Picture Day were a success.
Please rest assured that we nourish a culture of respect and accountability at DeBakey-Qatar, and we require all of our students to abide by the same concept.
Admissions
DeBakey High School – Qatar is now accepting applications for the 2015 – 2016 School Year! We are considering applications for grades 7 – 10 only.
If you have any children or relatives who would like to be considered for next school year’s enrollment, now is the time to begin the application process.

Our school uniform is intended to promote equality and uniformity amongst students. All students must come to school in complete school uniform as identified in the Student Handbook.
Students will be sent home if he or she is not in complete school uniform. This includes navy slacks (optional long skirts for girls) and ties for high school boys. Leggings, open-toe shoes, nor jeans are permitted. Jackets and sweaters must be solid navy or black (Large logos & writing are not permitted).
Please ensure your child leaves home in their complete uniform.

American Women’s Association of Qatar
Recently the high students participated in a lecture about volunteering and social responsibility. The lecture was led by the FAWCO (Federation of American Women’s Club Overseas) Youth Ambassador. The Qatar chapter of FAWCO is AWAQ, and this is an organization that mothers of all nationalities are able to join. There are many supplemental benefits for your children through membership.

Special Acknowledgment
Eighth grade students, Logena Bashah and Zain Assaf, took outstanding initiative with the Crisis in Syria donation effort. Both students collected 1,906 QR from family & friends in their compound to add to the school’s donation to benefit the children of Syria.
Tardy Policy
Our Tardy Policy is designed to ensure students are in class receiving their education. Excessive absence and tardiness to class disrupts the student’s learning. Please review the policy with your child, as we hold each student accountable for their consistent presence in class.
World Book Day
March 5, 2015 is World Book Day and in effort to promote reading, we will celebrate on Wednesday, March 4, 2015.
- Grades 7 & 8 students will create book related displays.
- Grades 9 – 12 students will gather in the auditorium to read a book for 40 minutes.
